Profile
Those who study Modern and Contemporary History focus on the period from the French revolution to the present - or to put it another way, with modernity and the structural change of the present. Accordingly, modern history deals with the political and economic double revolution of the modern era. It addresses technical innovations and investigates their embedding into society. However, everyday cultural phenomena such as advertisement and pop music are also taken into account. Sources include not only tests and artwork but also photos, films, and recordings. RWTH Aachen exercises a geographical focus on Europe, although courses also discuss phenomena in non-European history.
